The real good reasons we love scuba diving (according to Kate)

Scuba diving has so many great advantages. It’s great for your health, self-esteem, physical fitness but is also lots of fun. Besides all of these advantages I have compiled a list of why else scuba diving is good for us:

Good for curly hair

If you are blessed to have curly locks, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. Salty sea hair is the best for curly hair. It makes your curls tight and frizz go away. I’ve been known to go without washing my hair for weeks at a time because it feels so much better, but then it gets so itchy and no one needs to see seaweed in the hair.

That's a hair cut!

Silence

You can go diving with someone and not know a single thing about them and dive in silence and have a great time and form a wonderful relationship without even saying a word. Had a crappy day at work or want to escape the wife/husband and kids? Go diving, get some quiet time, and go home feeling fresh and happy again.

Down There nobody can hear you!

Meet new people

Like mentioned above, diving brings people together from all walks of life. I’ve been diving with people for a week and not known anything about them but their name is Bob, advanced diver and they love turtles. Don’t ask me what they do for a living or single, married or where they are from. Diving doesn’t discriminate. We all just dive and share the same passion.

You can pee yourself and no one cares…

we all do it! If I tell you I go to work and some days I pee myself what would you think? Most scuba divers that you talk to do this at some point. Maybe every dive, most days or every so often. And it’s ok to do it. I see this as a good thing, and peeing in nature is rewarding. As long as you give your wetsuit a good wash out and don’t pee in gear hire (cos that’s just gross) and not when you’re on a boat where everyone does it and the whole boat stinks then its fine by me.

Fish Bowl

No one looks good in a wetsuit.

You might have the hottest, fittest, sexiest body in the world but no one looks good in a 5mil wetsuit. So why is this a good thing? Because no one will judge you when you don’t have Elle McPherson’s body and everyone will look as bad as one another. We will all come out of the water looking like whales, snot on the face and blue lips and no one will say a bad word because we all look equally bad.

So if you have curly hair, don’t want to be judged by what you look like, want to meet new people (even if you don’t want to talk to them) and are happy to bond over one common passion then diving is for you.

If you would like to join us for any dives let us know via email info@bucketlistdiver or text/call Kate 0439954468. We’d love to dive with you.
